July 2024 – what’s on?

In a few weeks, the second stage of the design competition will close (Information in German here>). Three competitors are still in the game. They are internationally renown top workshops from three EU countries. The first stage already produced very promising rough design concepts, though quite different in approach. At the end of September the final result should be announced and the contributions will be presented to the public.

And there was development at fundraising: To date, an amount of 750,000 EUR is available, thanks to another 20k contribution from July, again initiated by our patron Joachim Gauck. As part of the first stage, cost estimations had to be named, and together with some estimations from spring regarding exterior restoration of the organ casework and the balcony, we can now name the amount of 5 million EUR as the financial range of the organ project. Of course one should consider rising costs and prizes in near future…

So, another milestone on our way!
