Third Meeting of Advisory Board

On March 11 2020, the Advisory Board met for the third time. Present were (from right) Prof. Franz Danksagmüller, Friedrich Drese, Martin Dücker und Karl-Bernhardin Kropf (not shown).

After the second meeting, K.-B. Kropf wrote another concept, striving to bring quite much of the present instrument into a future organ. During an intense discussion about the goals of the restored instrument and the possibilities of the extant material and its limitations, a more courageous approach for any future developments emerged.

A research tour, scheduled for mid of April to visit three organs in different German states, had to be postponed due to the Corona pandemy.

A little advantage of this delay may be that all ideas and the quite pominent challenges of the project may be investigated further, and meanwhile new technologies or creative solutions of comparable acoustical problems are being found at other locations, becoming useful for the progress of the Rostock project, too.
