Benefit Concert on Sept 17, 2022

On 17 September 2022, a concert of the Deutsches Ärzte-Orchester (German Medics Orchestra) took place in St Mary’s Church as a benefit performance for the restoration of organ and duke’s loft. The event was strongly supported by the “Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz” (German Heritage Protection Foundation).

The program contained works by Brahms (1st symphony), Beehoven (Egmont Ouverture) and Mottok (first performance of music reflecting poems by Thomas Brasch). Director was Alexander Mottok. An audience of about 400 attended the event.

Welcoming addresses have been given by former German president Joachim Gauck and the chairman of the DSD council Prof. Dr. Jörg Haspel. The “Mecklenburgische Versicherung” insurance announced a contribution of 30,000 EUR.

Ticket sales have been doubled by DSD, and finally an amount of more than 60,000 EUR was gained for the restoration funding.
